The New Ipod MP3 Player: Thousands & Thousands of iTunes
from: Ian RichardsonI purchased my first tape recorder when I was 13 and the first song I recorded was Electric Light Orchestra's “Evil Woman.” When I got my allowance, I’d buy more blank cassette tapes and sit by the radio waiting for a good song to play. The first few words usually got cut off as it took a few seconds in lead time, but I was pretty happy.
I Had No Idea What I had to look forward to When I Got My First MP3 Player
I was surprised at the thousands of songs that can fit in my pocket. The first Ipod MP3 player came out in 2001 and held 1000 songs. It was only about a quarter of the size of that old Panasonic tape recorder.
The latest Ipod MP3 player holds 7,500 songs in its 30G version or 15,000 songs in its 60G version. This one has video too, either 75 hours or 150 hours depending on how many Gs you go with.
One Downside to the Ipod MP3 Player
You’re limited to purchasing songs from iTunes so you’re not going to be able to take that Wal-mart gift card that Aunt Gladys gave you for your birthday and fill up your Ipod MP3 player with your favorite songs. Not that there’s anything wrong with iTunes, but it is limiting just because that’s the only place you can get your music.
If you’re hanging around the house, you can show your stored photos on the TV, otherwise you can carry them around with you using the Ipod MP3 player.
The new Ipod MP3 player, simply called Ipod, can play music for up to 14 hours on a single charge of the battery. That would cover a lot of flights, a few bus trips, and an awful lot of poker hands. While it takes four hours to completely charge the battery, at two hours it’s already 80% charged.
The best thing about the Ipod MP3 player is that it gives us plenty of room to keep close the songs of yesterday while we embrace the songs of today. Now, let me see if iTunes has "Evil Woman.”
Other MP3 Options
Now you really can have your workout instructor or personal trainer in your hip pocket, as Podfitness has come up with an innovative way to work out with a professional trainer using your own music. Podfitness is a subscription service and you don’t necessarily have to have an Ipod MP3 player to use it. The service will work with any MP3 player but you must have a PC and iTunes. Check out podfitness.com for more details.
